The site in Orkland was chosen in 2021 for its strategic industrial potential and access to high-capacity infrastructure. Its location offers substantial heat offtake opportunities, highly efficient cooling, as well as grid and spatial capacity for next-generation data operations at very large scale, aligned with the highest standards of resilience and sustainability.

Where the project stands

The project includes 450 MW of mature DC grid capacity, with substantial headroom for the future. The first phase is expected to be operational in late 2029. We are currently in advanced planning and development, with the industrial site being prepared for large-scale infrastructure and significant progress made in facility design and technical alignment. Our phased approach ensures each step meets rigorous standards for sovereignty, resilience and efficiency before construction begins.

Efficiency is at the core of Eiktyr. By leveraging the local climate and innovative cooling systems, the site minimizes energy overhead. Furthermore, we are designing integration paths for industrial-scale heat offtakers, effectively recycling energy into the local ecosystem.

Development respects both the physical landscape and the surrounding community. Eiktyr is designed to exist in harmony with its neighbors, with careful consideration given to noise management, visual integration, and meaningful dialogue with all local stakeholders.

The site is powered by a robust mix of wind and hydro resources. Our connection to the sustainable energy grid in Norway provides the high-performance, carbon-neutral electricity required for large-scale AI training and resilient cloud operations.

As we move towards complete industrial activation, our focus remains on operational excellence and technological integration. Eiktyr will serve as a lighthouse for European digital sovereignty, demonstrating how high-tech infrastructure can be built responsibly and efficiently for the future.
